Global Education Protector
An industry first, our Global Education Protector ensures your employees' children receive the education they deserve, whether locally or internationally, in the unfortunate event of the employee's passing. This coverage is automatically included for employees with life cover at least twice their annual salary and can extend to private schooling and select overseas universities based on the employee’s Vitality status.
Return-to-Health Programme
The Return-to-Health Programme is a pioneering vocational rehabilitation initiative designed to help employees return to work after experiencing an injury, illness, or disability. Tailored to individual needs, this program not only supports employees in regaining their performance levels but also rewards them for their progress. Participants receive a 10% sign-on bonus of their monthly Income Continuation Benefit at the start, and upon successful completion and return to work, they can earn up to 300% of their monthly benefit as a bonus.
Income Continuation Benefit
Our Income Continuation Benefit provides financial stability to employees unable to work due to injury, illness, or disability. This benefit covers up to 100% of medical aid contributions and other Discovery premiums and can even cover a portion of performance bonuses earned before the employee became ill or injured. Additionally, it supports mortgage payments and severe illness cover for spouses and children, along with Vitality Healthy Living cash back.
Severe Illness Benefit
The Severe Illness Benefit offers comprehensive financial support to employees diagnosed with severe illnesses. This benefit ensures employees can maintain their lifestyle through holistic coverage, addressing all severity levels and automatically including children under the employee’s cover. The Global Treatment Benefit also provides access to top-tier global medical experts.
Group Risk Payback
The Group Risk Payback benefit incentivizes healthy living by rewarding employees with up to 15% of their premiums back each year. These paybacks can be doubled when reinvested into Discovery Retirement Funds, helping employees secure their financial future while staying healthy.
Funeral Benefit
Discovery's Employee Benefits include a comprehensive Funeral Benefit designed to provide financial support in times of need. This benefit ensures that in the unfortunate event of an employee's death, their family is not burdened with funeral expenses. The Funeral Benefit covers a range of costs associated with the funeral, helping to ease the financial stress on the family during a difficult time. Through an online platform, employees can set retirement goals, track their progress, and make informed decisions. Our dynamic investment strategies adjust to meet employees' changing needs, offering boosts of up to 15% for asset transfers and contributions, rewarding healthy living and safe driving behaviors. These boosts can supplement retirement savings both pre- and post-retirement.
